Pixel owners rejoice: april update fixes major bugs

Google has finally released an update for Pixel devices that addresses several major bugs introduced by the March feature drop.

Bug fixes galore

The update appears to resolve issues with third-party apps crashing, including banking apps and games. Some users reported missing the Backup option in System settings, but this has also been fixed.

Quick Share, which allows file transfers between Pixel and Apple devices, was also plagued by crashes during file transfers, but these should now be a thing of the past.

Furthermore, the update reportedly fixes a problem causing the quick search bar to sometimes disappear from the home screen.

Still some way to go

While this update is a welcome relief for many Pixel owners, there are still several issues that remain unresolved. Battery life woes and screen freezing issues in always-on display mode persist, and the bootlooping problem continues to plague some devices.

As a recent Pixel convert, I must admit that my experience has been marred by these ongoing bugs. Google needs to do better in terms of timely bug fixes and ensuring its flagship devices deliver a seamless user experience.
