Huawei unleashes wide foldable threat to apple's dominance

Chinese tech giant Huawei has officially launched its brand new foldable smartphone, the Pura X Max, that could potentially shake up the market and challenge Apple's foldable iPhone rumors.

The Pura X Max boasts a book-style foldable design with a wide internal display, appearing to have an aspect ratio of around 16:11. This format is a notable departure from the flip foldable design seen in Huawei's original Pura X model.

While details on the device's specifications remain scarce, Huawei has revealed that the Pura X Max will come in four storage configurations ranging from 12GB/256GB to 16GB/1TB, with five color options including Phantom Night Black, Zero Degree White, Interstellar Blue, Olive Gold, and Vibrant Orange.

Pre-orders for the device are now open in China, with a launch date set for April 20 alongside the Huawei Pura 90 Pro series. The Pura X Max's availability, however, is limited to the domestic Chinese market.

This latest development from Huawei could either pave the way for Apple's rumored wide foldable iPhone or prove that the new form factor fails to resonate with consumers. Either way, the Pura X Max's release marks a significant milestone in the burgeoning foldable smartphone trend.
