T-mobile veteran mike katz exits amid strategic shift, chris sambar takes the helm

T-Mobile's Chief Business and Product Officer Mike Katz, who has spent over two decades with the company, is leaving to pursue new professional interests. Katz will remain with T-Mobile until the end of the year and will take on a strategic advisory role until 2026.

In a LinkedIn post, Katz expressed his gratitude to executives who believed in him, including past CEOs John Legere and Mike Sievert. He acknowledged the opportunity to work with such visionaries during his long tenure at T-Mobile.

Enter chris sambar: the new chief enterprise officer

Stepping into Katz's shoes is Chris Sambar, who joins T-Mobile as Chief Enterprise Officer, effective October 14, 2026. Sambar will oversee the company's Small and Medium Business (SMB), enterprise, and government segments, as well as T-Mobile Advertising Solutions (T-Ads).

T-Ads leverages consumer behavior and app usage data to deliver targeted ads across mobile displays, digital billboards, in-store networks, and even rideshares. Sambar will also be responsible for Physical AI, an initiative that deploys computing hardware in cell towers to optimize network traffic flow in urban areas.

Sambar brings over two decades of experience, most recently at AT&T, where he spearheaded 5G network deployments and enterprise sales. His prior role as COO at Public Storage, a company with extensive public storage facilities, further bolsters his credentials.

Reporting directly to CEO Srini Gopalan, Sambar is poised to lead T-Mobile's strategic expansion in the enterprise sector.
