Apple's latest update brings tap to pay to mexico

Apple has quietly rolled out support for iPhone's Tap to Pay feature in Mexico, two days after announcing its new Apple Business platform.

The contactless payment system, which debuted in the US in 2022, allows iPhone owners to make transactions by tapping their device on payment terminals. Until now, it was only available in 49 countries and regions, but Apple's latest update brings it to Mexico, making it the 50th country to support the feature.

Tap to Pay in Mexico will be compatible with payment platforms Adyen, Clip, Mercado Pago, and Visa Acceptance Platform, with more likely to be added in the future.

This marks a significant expansion for Tap to Pay, covering the entirety of North America for the first time. The feature relies on Near Field Communication (NFC) and doesn't require any special hardware from businesses.
