Claude ai suffers major outage, leaving users unable to access popular chatbot
Claude AI, the popular chatbot developed by Anthropic, faced a major outage on Tuesday morning, leaving millions of users unable to access the platform.

Users report widespread issues
A quick scan of DownDetector, a third-party outage tracker, revealed a staggering number of users reporting problems accessing Claude. The chatbot's status page indicated a 'significant interruption' to both Claude AI and Claude Code, sparking widespread frustration among users.
'We've detected an issue causing an increase in errors on Claude.ai, affecting both desktop and mobile devices,' Anthropic's status page read. 'Users may experience errors when trying to log in, use voice mode, or complete chats with Claude. We're working to resolve this issue as soon as possible.'
However, in a swift response, Anthropic confirmed just over 90 minutes later that the issue had been resolved. 'We've applied a solution and success rates have returned to normal,' the company stated. 'We're continuing to monitor closely to ensure no further problems arise.'
This isn't the first time Claude has suffered an outage. Users reported issues accessing the platform on Monday, and Anthropic's status page shows several problems in the past few weeks. The sudden surge in interest for Claude, which briefly surpassed ChatGPT in App Store downloads earlier this month, may have put additional strain on the platform.
