Google play store gets a search bar – finally, some sense

Users have been screaming for this for years, and Google has finally buckled. The Play Store’s review section now boasts a long-overdue search bar, streamlining the process of finding specific information buried within countless app critiques.

A relentless dig through comments

Version 50.7.24-31 introduces a surprisingly simple, yet profoundly effective, addition: a search field directly within the review section of any app. Forget sifting through hundreds, sometimes thousands, of comments to pinpoint a specific issue – now you can laser-focus your investigation.

Accessing this new feature is straightforward. Navigate to an app’s details, tap on ‘Ratings & Reviews’, and then select ‘See All Reviews’. Alternatively, scroll to the bottom of the review list, and you’ll find a magnifying glass icon. Tapping it instantly positions the reviews at the top of the screen, activating the search bar. Simply type your query and hit enter – only reviews containing those exact terms will appear.

Let’s be clear: this isn’t some revolutionary semantic search. It’s a basic keyword search. You need to be precise, using the exact words that appear in the reviews. And a single-term search?
