Motorola razr fold gains airdrop support, sharpening android's apple interoperability

Google's efforts to make cross-platform file sharing easier have just taken another step forward. Its latest update brings AirDrop support to the Motorola Razr Fold, allowing the foldable Android device to seamlessly share files with Apple devices.

More android phones to gain air drop soon

This interoperability comes via the Quick Share feature, which was initially introduced to support the transfer of files between Pixel phones. The update marks a significant milestone in bridging the gap between Android and iOS ecosystems.

The Motorola Razr Fold is the first device from the brand to support AirDrop, and it's unclear if other Motorola models will follow suit through future software updates. However, this development suggests that more Android phones, including some mid-range devices, could soon gain this capability.

The list of Android phones now supporting AirDrop over Quick Share includes the Pixel 10 series, Galaxy S26, S25, and S24 series, Oppo Find X9, OnePlus 15, Honor Magic V6, and most recently, the Xiaomi 17T Pro. According to Google, additional devices from Oppo, Honor, and vivo are also expected to receive the update in the near future.
