Your next TikTok upload could hit the cloud before the seat-belt sign blinks off. Starlink’s low-Earth swarm is already pushing 350 Mbps to Qatar Airways A350s and Delta A321neos, a speed that leaves the 10 Mbps shared pipe of yesterday’s Gogo rigs looking like dial-up in a time capsule.

United is ripping out seats, not wiring

United wants the entire mainline fleet Starlink-ready by December, a timeline that has suppliers hustling spare Ku-band antennas across hangars like pit-crew parts.

Amazon and beijing race to launch, but the clock is orbital

Maravedis warns that true fiber-in-the-sky parity waits until 2028, when next-gen electronically steered antennas and second-gen v2 satellites triple throughput.
Bottom line: the next time a flight attendant announces “free high-speed Wi-Fi onboard,” believe it. Just pack a power bank—350 Mbps drains batteries faster than a transcon red-eye.
